Abstract

Purpose : the purpose of this descriptive study was to develop nursing jobs at the divisional health care units, contributed to the military medical affairs development plan.

Methods : In the first step, the nursing practices were listed up through reviewing the literatures. The nursing practices were as categorized in-patient and out-patient nursing and community nursing. And the list was confirmed of fitness through interviews of medical workers at divisional health care units. The list of nursing practices was made by getting advice from various experts.

Results : 1. Nursing practices of in-patient and out-patient Nursing practices were composed of 12 categories: checking & observation, respiratory nursing, nutrition & excretion, activ ity & individual hygiene, medication, treatment & procedure, patient education & support, risk management, operating nursing unit, reporting, supporting and other administration jobs. Ninty four sub- categories were from checking vital signs to making out statistic data. 2. Community Nursing practices were composed of 11 categories : education & consultation, vaccination, health promotion, operating health project in division, group examination, emergency treatment, management of disease, follow up of discharged patients, health statistics, managing of disaster, and research & development. Seventy three sub-categories were from educating BLS to development and research of military medical services.
